August Data | Product Safety Assessment (PSA) Studies

In the cosmetics industry, product safety and full regulatory compliance are the cornerstones of protecting consumer health. Ensuring product safety is not only a legal obligation but also a critical process that supports brand credibility and sustainability.

At Cosming, within the scope of our monthly Product Safety Assessment (PSA) studies, we rigorously evaluate products through scientific analyses and methodologies based on international standards. In this report, we share the highlights and data obtained from our August activities.

⇒ An Integrated Approach to Global Product Safety and Multi-Market Compliance

This month, products originating from different countries accounted for 45% of our evaluations.
This growing diversity on a global scale demonstrates that products are not only compliant with local requirements but also meet multi-market regulatory obligations.

During the assessments, the following steps were meticulously completed:

  • Verification of product formulations and raw material compliance with regulations,

  • Review and validation of product labeling and marketing claims,

  • Preparation of exposure and toxicological assessments,

  • Compilation of final product safety reports.

All processes were conducted in full compliance with both the TİTCK “Guideline on Cosmetic Product Safety Assessment” (Version 3.0) and the European Union Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009/EC.

⇒ Most Preferred Active Ingredient: Niacinamide

In August, Niacinamide emerged as the most widely used active ingredient in our evaluations.

According to scientific literature, Niacinamide:

  • Strengthens the skin barrier and reduces transepidermal water loss,

  • Helps even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots,

  • Minimizes the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles.

Thanks to these properties, Niacinamide is extensively used both in daily skincare products and in professional cosmetic formulations. Within Cosming’s PSA studies in August, Niacinamide was observed as the most preferred active ingredient.

⇒ Scientific Rigor and International Compliance

In every PSA study conducted at Cosming, we adopt an approach that is:

  • Consumer-safety oriented

  • Science-based

  • 100% compliant with regulations

This ensures that products developed by brands are delivered to consumers not only in local markets but also with international reliability and compliance.

Conclusion

At Cosming, through our Product Safety Assessment studies, we continue to provide reliable, science-driven, and regulation-compliant solutions that prioritize consumer health and support brands in achieving sustainable credibility in the cosmetics industry.
